Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg is an American politician of the Democratic Party who has served as the United States secretary of transportation since February 3, 2021. He was also the 32nd mayor of South Bend, Indiana from 2012 through 2020.
On August 17, 2021, Buttigieg announced that he and his husband had become parents. On September 4, 2021, Buttigieg announced that they had welcomed two newborns named Penelope and Joseph.
